A small steam turbine generator set is a device that converts thermal energy into electrical energy. It consists of a steam turbine and a generator, among which the steam turbine is a device that uses steam to drive the blades to rotate, thereby driving the generator to generate electricity.
2、 Structural composition
Steam turbine section
The material of the wheel should meet the standards, be uniform and have a complete surface, without defects such as cracks or pores. Each component must be manufactured and assembled strictly according to the drawings and adjusted reasonably to ensure rotational balance and stability. The angle and hub radius of the first and second stage blades must meet the design requirements, and the blade shape tolerance must be controlled within a reasonable range. The bearings and their seats must also comply with relevant standards to prevent malfunctions from occurring.
Generator section
The stator must be manufactured strictly according to the drawings, with a flat cross-section, uniform materials, no dead corners, and insulation performance that meets the standards. The rotor should meet the design requirements, and the tolerances of blade angle and length should be controlled within a reasonable range.
3、 Working principle
Conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy: By burning fuel, high-temperature and high-pressure steam is generated, which drives the turbine blades to rotate, achieving the conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy.
Conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy: The turbine drives the generator to rotate, and the excitation winding in the generator generates a magnetic field. The rotor cuts the magnetic field and generates induced electromotive force, thereby converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. In this process, there is also a thermal cycle consisting of heating expansion, condensation, and feedwater heating. Fuel is burned in the boiler to produce high-temperature and high-pressure steam, which expands and drives the blades to rotate in the turbine. Then, it condenses into water in the condenser, releasing latent heat of vaporization. The condensed water is heated again to form a cycle.
4、 Application scenarios
Small steam turbine generator sets are widely used in urban and rural production and life, such as self generation in some small factories, farms and other places, or playing a role in distributed energy systems. They are also applied in waste heat power generation. For example, some enterprises with industrial waste heat can use small back pressure steam turbine generator sets to convert waste heat into electrical energy.
